Follow OK! on Threads here: https://www.threads.net/@ok_mag Television presenter Stacey Dooley has been left heartbroken following the tragic passing of one of her dearest friends.The documentary maker had grown close to pal Jemma McGowan whilst filming an episode of Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, called Mum Fighting the Clock.
But sadly, Jemma passed away this week "peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family" aged just 29 following a battle with cancer.
After hearing the news, mum-of-one Stacey - who shares seven month old daughter Minnie with Strictly partner Kevin Clifton - paid tribute to Jemma on her social media, posting a video of the duo dancing together. "Fly high darlin'," the captioned the emotional video. "Thank you for being so kind and so so FUN.Thinking of her Clive and her gorgeous babies." Mum of three Jemma - who lived in Omagh in Northern Ireland - had spoken about her friendship with Stacey after they filmed together.
She wrote in a post shared in February, gushing over her newfound friend: "So, our secret is out. I made a new forever friend @sjdooley and we made a tv documentary together. "It really was an emotional rollercoaster." Jemma - who shared daughters Sadie and Betty, and son Louis with husband Clive - first rose to prominence after she raised more than £150,000 to fund cancer treatment in Mexico having been given just six months to live in 2021.
