'Desert Drifter' YouTuber Andrew Cross Taken Off Life Support, Passes Away at 36

Andrew Cross, otherwise known as “Desert Drifter” on YouTube, was just taken off life support, and has passed away at the age of 36.

The social media star was on life support following a traumatic brain injury sustained in a car accident, and his family made the incredibly difficult decision this week more than a month after the collision.

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office in Colorado confirmed the death of the 36-year-old on Wednesday (March 5), via TMZ. Keep reading to find out more… His sister Jenna said the decision came on Monday (March 3) after “prayer, information gathering, and discussion.” She previously explained that they would need to make a decision as he was nearing the maximum time allowed in the ICU. Andrew had been in a two-car accident on January 31, when he was rear-ended at high speed while waiting at a stoplight.

He was rushed to the hospital and immediately underwent brain surgery to control the bleeding on his brain, and was in the ICU ever since.
