Kate Garraway has finally got the good news she's been waiting for as her husband Derek Draper has been allowed to go home after a year in hospital.
The former lobbyist has been under the care of doctors since March 2020 after being struck down with Covid-19, and after months of steady progress he's finally been given the ok to return to his family.
Derek is said to have been taken off all machines and breathing apparatus, but still faces a "long and gruelling" fight back to full health.
It was a long and agonising year for Kate and the couple's two kids as Derek was placed into an induced coma, and then struggled to regain consciousness when he came out the other side.
