Derek Adams could be in line for a third stint as Ross County manager. The Morecambe boss is high on the Highlanders’ wanted list and a deal could be sealed within the next 24 to 48 hours.
The 48-year-old looks set to replace Malky Mackay, who was sacked last week. He is a man County chairman Roy MacGregor knows well and reckons can keep his club in the Premiership.
Adams began his managerial career in Dingwall before joining Hibs as assistant but returned for a second stint that saw County win the Second and First Division titles, a Challenge Cup and reach the Scottish Cup final in 2010.
He has since made a name for himself in England during spells at Plymouth, Bradford and Morecambe but now looks set to return north.
