and that's when I did it. "Fast forward to my late thirties and someone said to me, 'all I wanted was to feel normal. '"The TV star shared she wanted to escape the feelings of unhappiness and cocaine helped her to "feel normal". "I did cocaine and it made me feel normal for two hours and that was the descent into that world and then it became hell," the Loose Women panellist added.
Denise has since celebrated 11 years of sobriety after quitting alcohol and drugs in 2012. She has been open in recent years about her struggle and the road to recovery.
In April she took to her Instagram account to share two snaps of herself, taken over 11 years apart, as she spoke about how sobriety changed her life.
