Demi Lovato has opened up about the devastating side effects of her 2018 heroin overdose. The singer, 28, had relapsed after being sober for six years at that point and almost lost her life after suffering from a heart attack, three strokes and organ failure.
She has now revealed that she woke up legally blind in an intensive care unit and she is still unable drive due to her vision impairment.
It took about two months to recover enough of her sight to read a book, and blind spots in her vision meant it was nearly impossible to see head-on in the early days of her recovery.
Demi told The New York Times: "It was interesting how fast I adapted. "I didn't leave myself time to really feel sad about it.
