Demi Lovato left fans divided after sharing a post calling gender reveal parties ‘transphobic’. The singer and actress told her near 100 million Instagram followers that it is ‘insincere’ to not see the celebrations as excluding trans people.
The parities are a recent trend when parents-to-be pop pink or blue balloons filled with glitter to announce the sex of their child months before the birth.
The 28-year-old encouraged her followers to share the information on a nine-page post. The Instagram message titled ‘Why Gender Reveals Are Transphobic’ – originally written by Alok Vaid-Menon – was uploaded on her profile.
