Delight at Lanarkshire school pupils' exam result success

Following the disruption to the SQA exams caused by the pandemic, the young people in Holy Cross High School bounced back in tremendous style with an excellent set of results.What's even more impressive is that this was the first time any of this years S4, S5 and S6 year groups had sat the “traditional" style of SQA examinations.The young people in S5 were absolutely outstanding – with 20 per cent achieving five Highers; more than half of that percentage achieving five A passes; and 50 percent achieving three or more Highers with 72 per cent achieving one or more at A-C.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Just under 30 per cent achieved a fantastic eight National 5s at A-C; with 55 per cent achieving five or more National 5s at A-C.The S6 group also performed exceptionally well, 28 per cent of the year group achieving at least one Advanced Higher at A-C, building on their tremendous performance at Higher last year.The young people, parents/carers and staff were absolutely thrilled with the SQA results and head teacher, John Reilly, was equally delighted for all members of the school community.
