Delays on M8 as motorway closed in search for missing man

dailyrecord.co.ukmissing man. Billy McDowell was last seen on Tuesday July 28 at his home on Loch Awe Way, Whitburn. Fears are growing for the the 58-year-old who has been described as vulnerable by his family.
The inside lane and hard shoulder of the motorway was closed on Friday and Saturday as specialist officers continued their painstaking search.Police Scotland warned drivers near Whitburn that they would have to expect delays as a result.A spokesperson for the force said: “The hard shoulder & Lane 1 of the #M8 between jcts 4 & 4a will be closed in both directions on 19 & 20 Sept between 8:30am and approx 8pm to facilitate searches for missing person Billy McDowell.“Please allow extra time for your journey if travelling in the area.”Traffic Scotland.
