The death of TV star Erin Jayne Plummer's husband has taken a tragic turn after a body was found next to a cliff on Sunday.Alan, who shared three children with the Australian broadcaster, passed away at the age of 49 earlier this week.

His death marked two years after Erin sadly took her own life.Local media and police initially reported that Alan was found dead at the family's home in northern Sydney on Saturday.

However, it has been reported that a body was found at the foot of a cliff at Freshwater beach on Sunday.A NSW Police spokesperson told the Mirror: "Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner regarding the death of a 49-year-old man at Freshwater on Sunday."The alarm was raised for Alan after he failed to turn up to meet his friend for a swim on Sunday.

His friend called the police to request a welfare check.Officers then showed up at his home and informed his 18-year-old daughter that her dad was missing.
