Dawson's Creek star Obi Ndefo has died aged 51, his sister has announced.The actor was best known for playing Bodie Wells in the American drama alongside James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes.
Obi's sister Nkem Ndefo announced the tragic news on Facebook, writing: "Heartbroken at the loss of my younger brother and knowing he's finally at peace." While his cause of death is currently unknown, it comes after Obi lost both of his legs when he was hit by a car in August 2019.
Obi began his acting career in 1995, appearing in an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He went onto take on roles in The Jamie Foxx Show, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Crossing Jordan, The West Wing and Stargate SG-1.
His final role was a character in an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles in 2021. In Dawson's Creek, Obi played Bodie - a recurring character on the show who began a relationship with Bessie Potter (Nina Repeta).The TV couple settled in Capeside and eventually welcomed a son, Alexander.
