Obi's sister Nkem Ndefo announced the tragic news on Facebook, writing: "Heartbroken at the loss of my younger brother and knowing he's finally at peace." While his cause of death is currently unknown, it comes after Obi lost both of his legs when he was hit by a car in August 2019. Obi began his acting career in 1995, appearing in an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
