Davina McCall recalls being rushed to hospital after drug overdose

Davina McCall has reflected on her lowest point at the height of her addiction struggles and recalled being rushed to hospital while suffering an overdose.

The celebrated 52-year-old television presenter went through a dark period of life at the start of her career where she was addicted to the class A drug heroin and also smoked cannabis.

Speaking at an International Women's Day event, the star revealed that a brush acted as the wake-up call she needed to turn her life around.

After taking a cocktail of drugs, Davina - who has been clean for 25 years - found herself waking up in a hospital bed and realised she had to clean up her act, or face an early grave.
