David Weir believes a return to the Champions League could see Steven Gerrard's side emulate Ibrox heroes of yesteryear.And the 50-year-old is convinced his former team would be in position to potentially land "special players" if they dine at European football's top table next season.Rangers are closing in on a first Premiership title in a decade and could secure glory against Celtic on March 21.That would see Gerrard take his side into the champions playoff route in a bid return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2010/11 season.Rangers are also on the verge of reaching the last 16 of this season's Europa League and face Antwerp at Ibrox on Thursday after winning the epic first leg 4-3.And Weir reckons it's only the start.
