David Jonsson to Star in Frank Ocean’s Directorial Debut Film (EXCLUSIVE)

Katcy Stephan David Jonsson will star in the lead role of Frank Ocean‘s forthcoming directorial debut film, and has begun shooting the project in Mexico City.

The independent film is currently untitled, and plot details remain under wraps. The fast-rising British actor recently starred as the co-lead in Ridley Scott’s “Alien: Romulus” film alongside Cailee Spaeny, receiving rave reviews.

In 2024, he was named on both Variety’s 10 Actors To Watch and The Hollywood Reporter’s Next Gen Talent lists, and is nominated at the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards for the Rising Star Award, voted on by the public.

He previously starred in “Rye Lane” for Searchlight Pictures, written and directed by Raine Allen Miller. The film premiered at Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for Outstanding British Film at the BAFTA Film Awards.
