Clyde forward Gregory Tade says he's sad to see David Goodwillie leave for ex-club Raith Rovers - despite a furious reaction to his transfer. The striker scored over 100 goals for the Bully Wee following his 2017 arrival and departed on transfer deadline day for Tade's former club, Raith.Goodwillie was ruled to have raped a woman in a civil court ruling in 2017 and a fundraiser launched by disgruntled supporters towards Rape Crisis Scotland has reached more than £8,000.The Fifers have been hit with a barrage of criticism while sponsors - including crime writer Val McDermid - have withdrawn from the club.Raith's women's side are also taking a step back from association with the club and captain Tyler Rattray has stepped back after 10 years in Kirkcaldy.Volunteers have also walked away and directors at Starks Park have also resigned.

But former player and Clyde ace Tade believes it's a good signing. He said on social media: "For all the fans that have a negative opinion about David G, I would like to say that he is a great guy, he helped me a lot while at Clyde."He is a terrific striker that will help the club massively.

I am sad to see him go but happy he went to Raith."He made a few mistakes when he was a young boy, but in my opinion we all made mistakes.

He is a man now, a father and a husband that deserve respect and a great welcome."I wish him all the best and as a fan and former player i am delighted for the club to secure a top striker."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
