The government has confirmed when the first Cost of Living payments will be made following chancellor Rishi Sunak's announcement of the new support package last month.
Eight million homes across the country will start to see the first instalment of the £650 grant hit their bank accounts in just a few weeks.
Cost of Living payments will be made in two instalments with the first arriving next month. From July 14, the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) will begin sending payments of £326 to low-income households on benefits.
The second portion of the one-off £650 payment will follow in the autumn. Chancellor Rishi Sunak said: “We have a responsibility to protect those who are paying the highest price for rising inflation, and we are stepping up to help.
