EXCLUSIVE: Apple TV+’s Dark Matter has promoted Amanda Brugel (The Handmaid’s Tale) to series regular for Season 2 as Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley) joins the ensemble led by Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly who also executive produce.

Based on the acclaimed book by Blake Crouch, Dark Matter follows Jason Dessen, (Edgerton) a physicist, professor, and family man who — one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago — is abducted into an alternate version of his life.

Wonder quickly turns to nightmares when he tries to return to his reality amid the multiverse of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of mind-bending realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to return to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.

Alice Braga, Oakes Fegley, Dayo Okeniyi and Jimmi Simpson also star. As Deadline reported in 2022, Brugel joined the cast in the recurring role of ‘Blaire,’ ‘Daniella’s (Connelly) close friend.
