Comedian Dara Ó Briain is the latest star to share their reaction to the Government’s emergency alert this afternoon - by sharing a photo of his ‘helpful’ notification screen.
Phones around the country all simultaneously went off just before 3pm this afternoon as part of a test of the government’s emergency response system.
It is hoped to be used in the future to alert people of danger to life situations, like floods or wildfires. But, whilst some got the message earlier than the intended time and others didn’t get the message altogether, some, like Dara, seemingly received a completely different message. The comedian captioned the post: “Hmmm. Not sure this would be helpful in an emergency.” Fellow comedian Jim Davidson playfully responded: “At least you know you have something to panic about!!” Another replied: “You mean you can’t read alien language?
