Southampton's star striker Danny Ings has rejected a lucrative new contract on the south coast as links with Manchester United continue to persist.Ings, who born locally in Winchester, returned to his boyhood club in 2018, initially on loan and then permanently, and he has impressed for the Saints.He positioned himself as an outside bet for Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad for Euro 2020, however, he missed the cut for the England side.However, Ings is yet to put pen-to-paper with a new contract, and with his current deal up in 2022, he has rejected Southampton's latest lucrative advancements.
According to The Athletic, the former Liverpool frontman has turned down a four-year deal which would have made him Southampton's highest earner.
