At the time of her daughter’s birth, mum Anna Nicole was in a relationship with her former lawyer, Howard K. Stern. Howard was listed on Dannielynn’s birth certificate as her father, but one of Anna Nicole’s former flames disputed this as he believed that he was Danniellyn’s dad.
Larry Birkhead, a photographer who enjoyed an on and off relationship with Anna Nicole Smith that ended at the beginning of 2006, petitioned a judge to try and force a paternity test to be done on Dannielynn.
When it emerged that Larry was, in fact, the father of the child Howard K. Stern said that he wouldn’t fight for custody of Danniellyn any longer.The late model’s former lawyer said that his ultimate goal was to ensure a smooth transition for the baby.
