Follow OK! on Threads here: https://www.threads.net/@ok_mag Daniel Radcliffe has joined more than 160,000 people at the picket line during the SAG-AFTRA strike.The former-child star, who rose to fame playing Harry Potter in the franchise, brought along his newborn son alongside his American actress girlfriend Erin Darke.The 33-year-old was seen cradling his son, who was born in April this year, in a support sling across his chest while he marched alongside other actors and writers in the industry.

He becomes the latest major star to join the picket line in support at the first industry-wide strike against film and TV studios since 1980.

His partner Erin, 39, held up a striking sign as they joined in solidarity with all those affected in New York City. George Clooney, Jason Sudeikis, Joey King, Olivia Wilde, Brian Cox and Allison Janney are among other notable stars to have joined the strike.

SAG-AFTRA, a union representing about 160,000 Hollywood actors, officially went on strike on Friday, July 21, after failing to reach a deal with Hollywood’s biggest studios.This followed weeks of bargaining with the AMPTP who represent some of the largest studios and streaming platforms, including Paramount, Sony, Netflix, Walt Disney Studios and Warner Bros.That means major actors and writers are on strike at the same time for a first in more than 60 years.The strike will bring most film and television productions to a halt.
