Daniel Dubois cemented his place as IBF heavyweight champion of the world by getting rid out Anthony Joshua inside five rounds. The 27-year-old went into the sold out show at Wembley as an underdog against the former unified world champion, but put on a devastating display to all but end Joshua's bid to become heavyweight champion of the world for a third time.
Joshua was nailed to the canvas by a big looping right hand from Dubois in the first round before controversially being allowed to carry on by referee Marcus McDonnell despite only being held up by the ropes. But the much younger and fresher Dubois pressed home his advantage, with a stunning counter shot that almost rendered Joshua unconscious in round five after the 2012 Olympian appeared to catch him with a good shot of his own.
Joshua had got back into world title contention with a string of victories since suffering back to back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, but now has to go back to the drawing board to reclaim his former glory. After defending his title.
Dubois will now hope to face the winner of the rematch between Usyk and Tyson Fury for the undisputed heavyweight title next year.
