Daniel Craig forced to temporarily pull out of Macbeth after positive Covid test

Daniel Craig has tested positive for Covid-19, resulting in some of his upcoming appearances in Macbeth on Broadway being cancelled.The James Bond star, 54, is currently starring on Broadway in New York opposite Ruth Negga in a production of the Shakespeare play.

However the actor was forced to pull out of the Broadway adaptation just two hours before after testing positive for coronavirus.

In a tweet on Saturday 2 April, Macbeth on Broadway wrote: "PERFORMANCE UPDATE FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 2 Today’s matinee and evening performance of MACBETH are cancelled due to Daniel Craig just testing positive for COVID this afternoon." We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this causes ticket holders. All tickets for the cancelled performances will be refunded at the original point of purchase." Daniel was last on stage in 2013, in a revival of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal opposite his wife Rachel Weisz, with whom he shares a three year old daughter.
