Dane Cook came very close to starring on Saturday Night Live. However, the comedian ran into one problem: He never attended his audition.

The 52-year-old star explained that he’d been tapped to try out for the popular late-night show after Adam Sandler left in 1995.

During an appearance on the Fly on the Wall podcast, Dane revealed what went wrong with the plans. Keep reading to find out more… “On my way to my audition at SNL, I had a full-on panic attack,” he recalled, via EW. “I sat on a bench outside of Rockefeller Plaza.

And I didn’t go in. I actually called my manager. I said … ‘I can’t do it.’ And he’s like, why? They’re all waiting for you.
