Dana Carvey resurrected his iconic Saturday Night Live Church Lady skit during the cold open for the December 7 episode.

The 69-year-old actor originated the character, who is also known as Enid Strict, all the way back in 1986. He portrays an uptight elderly woman who hosts a talk show called Church Chat where she covers current events.

He’s reprised the role several times over the years, most recently in 2016 after the presidential election. During his most recent return, he poked fun as both Matt Gaetz, who has been wrapped up in scandals, and Hunter Biden, who was recently pardoned by his father President Joe Biden. Keep reading to find out more… In the skit, Church Lady proclaimed that 2024 had been “the most satanic year in history.” It featured cameos from Sarah Sherman as Matt, David Spade as Hunter and Marcello Hernandez as baseball star Juan Soto.

Check out the video below! The episode is hosted by Paul Mescal with musical guest Shaboozey. Paul‘s opening monologue was crashed by a fan-favorite cast member in a pair of very short shorts.
