Dan Walker shares first look in new role after asking BBC Breakfast if he could come back

It's been a week since Dan Walker was given an emotional send-off from BBC Breakfast after six years of appearing on the famous red sofa.

The presenter called it quits on the early morning news programme, announcing the news last month before his last day on the show last Tuesday (May 17).

When he announced his exit from his BBC One role, Dan revealed his next move and told fans that he'd be the host of Channel 5's revamped 5 News as he replaces Sian Williams.

The 45-year-old said at the time that the move has "been a massive decision" and during his last appearance on the programme, he almost pushed Sally Nugent to tears with his leaving speech in which he gushed over his co-host of six months.
