The EastEnders star died in 2020 aged 83 after battling Alzheimer’s. He said: “Barbara had this incredible memory, which is why it seemed so cruel what happened to her. “She said to me, ‘I was doing this thing today and I just went blank, the lines wouldn’t come to me.’ I said to her, ‘Bar, maybe this is the time you need to come away from EastEnders.’“She loved it, so it was a hard thing to get her to stop.”He has also revealed that his marriage to the former Carry On star "wasn't a closed book"' and that she wanted him to "enjoy himself".The actor, 59, claimed the couple were not in an open relationship, but the Peggy Mitchell star who was 27 years his senior, encouraged him to head back out into London.In his new book, By Your Side: My Life Loving Barbara Windsor, Scott wrote: "On only our second date Bar had talked to me in detail about her many, many conquests.
