Daisy Edgar-Jones, the breakout star of Normal People, landed the role of Carole King in the upcoming biopic adapted from the stage musical Beautiful.Sony acquired the rights to use King's songs and they obtained life rights from her.
They also obtained rights to songs from other artists featured in the show.Beautiful: The Carole King Musical ran on Broadway for five years and played 2,418 performances.
The show earned Jessie Mueller a Tony Award for her lead performance as King.
