Daisy Edgar-Jones has described the ‘life-changing’ fame that came with starring in Normal People. In 2020, while the whole world was locked away in our homes and every day was exactly the same, Daisy and her co-star Paul Mescal were becoming A-list celebrities overnight.

The BBC TV adaption of Sally Rooney’s incredible novel saw the Irish and British actors thrust into the spotlight, with everyone from Dua Lipa to Kim Kardashian gushing over the show.

In normal times Daisy and Paul would have been strutting the red carpet, appearing on star-studded talk shows and rubbing shoulders with other celebrities.

But with the world the way it was, they too were trapped indoors – but now they were one of the most famous names in the industry.
