daughter of an elderly man has told how her father was "not washed for days" at the care home he resided in and has said that his final days were so desolate his death came as a "relief".
Joseph Ainsworth, 83, was released into an "unacceptable" care home on March 20, 2020 - three days before the first UK-wide lockdown was implemented.
The pensioner was admitted to Rowan Garth Nursing Home, Anfield, but the dad-of-two and grandad-of-three sadly died at the home on May 15 having suffered a second stroke.In that time, his family have said that they witnessed him left alone in his room for hours on end with the door shut, sometimes having not been washed and even sometimes naked from the waist down.
