A dad has been left seething after he was slapped with a £100 fine for popping into the same McDonald's twice in one day. Spencer Barclay, 54, swung by the fast food joint at the Metro Retail Park in Gateshead for a morning coffee before heading to work.He then parked his car at nearby Metropolitan House, where he works as a software consultant, and used their free car park until the end of the day.

On his way home from work after 5pm, he headed back to the same branch to grab his then-six-year-old son a Happy Meal.He didn't think anything of his double trip until a few days later when he received a parking charge notice from UKPC claiming he had parked at the restaurant for a whopping eight hours and 43 minutes, reports Chronicle Live.Spencer, from Benwell in Newcastle, was left fuming.

He said: "This can clearly happen to anybody. I think they have got a camera that photographs you but the camera is a snapshot in time.

It photographs you coming in and leaving."That's fine but what if you visit twice? If you visit McDonald's twice in a day you can get a £100 fine - that can't be right!
