FAMILY motorists who need a seven-seat people mover would do well to check out the Dacia Jogger. It’s a more interesting and versatile proposition than many of its rivals, very spacious inside and it is pleasing to drive.
In common with other models from the Romanian brand, the Jogger is also very competitively priced.I recently had a top-spec Extreme SE model for a family trip to St Andrews from my home south of Glasgow and it really impressed me.The Jogger offers a blend of estate car practicality with bags of room for all on board and some rugged SUV styling to increase its kerb appeal. From the outside, the test car looks ready for adventure, with a bold, wide grille, protective cladding, front and rear skid plates, sturdy 16in black alloys and various black highlights. Its readiness for outdoor activities is enhanced by innovative modular roof rails that can take anything from skis to mountain bikes.
Unlike many other such cars, the two third-row seats aren’t just for kids but really do allow adults to travel in comfort.Yet even with all seats in use, the boot still offers a handy 212 litres of storage space, rising to 699 litres with the third-row pair folded.Removing them and folding the second row results in a whopping 2085 litres, and there are loads of practical storage places around the cabin.Styling-wise, I appreciated the textile strip that ran across the dash and on the front door armrests, as well as the satin chrome detailing and soft-feel leather steering wheel. There’s an eight-inch touchscreen mounted high on the dashboard and angled towards the driver for easy access to an array of functions. In the Extreme SE, this infotainment set-up includes DAB radio, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
