A cyclist who was involved in a horror crash on a busy road in Manchester over the Bank Holiday weekend has now died. Police were called to Wilbraham Road in the Whalley Range area on Sunday, August 28 at around 2.30pm, after an Audi A3 was involved in a collision with a cyclist on the carriageway heading towards Chorlton-cum-Hardy.

On Monday, police said two cyclists had been taken to hospital for treatment, where one was in a critical condition. Sadly, today they have confirmed one of the cyclists has since died. Wilbraham Road was closed for more than five hours following the crash. GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses.

Officers say they are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV footage from the area in the moments before the crash, or anyone who thinks they may have seen the black Audi A3 around the time of the accident.
