A cyclist tragically died after being knocked down by a woman who carried on driving with the bike underneath her car. Seena Chacko, 42, hit the 62-year-old cyclist in Handforth, near Wilmslow.
A court heard how the cyclist was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, but died from her injuries three days later. She has since been named at coroner's court as Emma Smallwood.
Chacko has now been sentenced to four years in prison. Officers were called out to a hit-and-run collision on Wilmslow Road, in Handforth, on Saturday, September 14. Chacko continued driving along the road with the bike underneath her car until she was stopped by another motorist. Mrs Smallwood was treated at the scene by passers-by before paramedics arrived.
