Customers fume that Mother's Day was 'ruined' by rotten flowers from Tesco and Waitrose

Major premium supermarkets across the country were accused of "ruining" Mother's Day this weekend, after customers were sent rotten and dead flowers.

Many customers looking to spoil their mum this past weekend would have flocked to stores for a bouquet of luxurious flowers to brighten up her day.Unfortunately, many were left flocking to Twitter to vent their frustration at the likes of Waitrose, M&S and Tesco for delivering flowers that were "80% dead."The drama unfolded after one shopper took to Twitter to fume about her "rotten" flowers from supermarket giant Tesco, reports Hull Live.The shopper wrote: "Tesco you have the cheek to charge £10 for a bunch of flowers that would normally be £5 due to Mother’s Day.

Opened them to find 80% rotten. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement".Tesco replied to the woman apologising. In a Tweet, the supermarket giant said: "Hi there, I'm so sorry about the state of these Flowers.

This is really disappointing. Please return these with the packaging and receipt. One of my colleagues at the customer service desk will be able to assist you with this.Another customer said to Tesco: "I bought some flowers today for mothers day and one of them is actually rotten.
