Votes have been cast in the general election 2024 with people across Cumbria heading to the ballot box. Elections took place in all six Cumbria constituencies including Carlisle, Barrow and Furness, Whitehaven and Workington, Westmorland and Lonsdale, Penrith and Solway and Morecambe and Lunesdale.

Since the 2019 general election major boundary changes affecting 90% of Parliamentary constituencies have come into force. A Conservative government had been in power in Parliament since 2010, ahead of July's election.
Polls closed in the general election 2024 at 10pm on Thursday, July 4, with counts taking place overnight. Results from across the UK are expected in the early hours of Friday morning.
