Cumbernauld Colts boss David Proctor hopes to put Saturday’s 5-1 defeat at home to Tranent down to a “blip” and says a loss of concentration saw them concede goals at crucial times.Having gone three games without conceding a goal, the wheels came off in spectacular fashion, and Proctor is looking to get back on track when they visit Linlithgow Rose on Saturday. He said: “We lost poor goals in the first half at really poor times, and goals change games.“When chances come our way we can’t afford to miss them, because you will get punished when you’re playing teams that are going to be up there challenging at the end of the season.“We were pretty much on top.

We had probably the better chances in the first half, but weren’t clinical enough.“We then made a couple of individual errors at the back, and unfortunately Tranent were pretty ruthless.“That’s the difference between the two teams – Tranent are one of the title favourites, whereas we need to make sure we don’t get ahead of ourselves and become complacent after a good run of form.“We need to make sure we’re still doing the basics well in every single game.“But Saturday’s result came out of the blue a little bit.

We had such a good defensive record, without conceding a goal in the first three games, to then lose concentration. We have to put Saturday down to a blip.”Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
