Police in Glasgow have been called in to manage an "unplanned" anti-lockdown demonstration that has packed out the city centre.

The protest has been organised by Scotland Against Lockdown, a group that runs campaigns against coronavirus protection measures.

The group says it is opposed to mandatory facemasks, the Scottish and UK Governments' Coronavirus Act 2020, social distancing and mandatory vaccines, according to its social media pages.

The group announced the assembly via social media yesterday, urging protesters to gather at Nelson's Monument in Glasgow Green.
