Cristiano Ronaldo received a first red card since leaving Manchester United during a 2-1 Saudi Super Cup defeat on Monday night.
The Portuguese forward was booked during the first half of Al-Nassr's semi-final clash with Al-Hilal and was later shown a straight red card with four minutes of regular time remaining for elbowing Ali Al-Bulaihi.
Leading 2-0 in the match with little time left to play, Ronaldo was left frustrated as he attempted to take a quick throw-in and was thwarted by Al-Bulaihi.
Ronaldo elbowed the Al-Hilal defender in the chest two times, who proceeded to fall to the ground, leaving the referee with little choice other than to dismiss the 39-year-old for his actions.
