Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed the 'truth' about his future will emerge in the coming weeks. Ronaldo, 37, expressed his desire to leave United at the start of July.

Ronaldo was absent for the club's tour of Thailand and Australia due to personal reasons and he reported to Carrington just 13 days before United's opening Premier League game.

The forward did not start against Brighton on the opening day, but he did make Erik ten Hag's starting lineup at the weekend against Brentford.

United were defeated 4-0 on Saturday evening and Ronaldo was helpless as his side were humiliated.
