Two criminals have been handed jail terms of more than 40 years today - some of the longest sentences ever handed out in the UK.
Connor Chapman, 23, will serve at least 48 years behind bars for the murder of beautician Elle Edwards, who was gunned down outside a pub in Wirral on Christmas Eve last year.
Chapman was subjected to shouts of 'rat' and 'scumbag' from Ms Edwards' family as he was handed a life sentence at Liverpool Crown Court this afternoon.
Meanwhile, triple murderer Jamie Barrow, who killed a mother and her young children by setting their flat on fire, was also handed a lengthy sentence at Nottingham Crown Court on the same day.
