The notorious cowboy gas engineer left two sick children without heating or hot water for five months.Dad-of-two Shazad Ali, 45, told how Matthew Henvey botched a boiler installation at his home in South Lanarkshire in September last year.
Henvey, who runs Glasgow Gas Services, charged the family £1,640 for the installation of the combi device. But after issues with the electrics and an unsupported flue, the device eventually blew before it was condemned by officials.
It left Mr Ali and his two young sons - one who is disabled and the other who requires a kidney transplant - freezing and unable to wash.Mr Ali told the Record: "I found him on Google and he had positive reviews, little did I know the danger he would put my family and I in.
He went into complete cowboy mode during the installation of my boiler."He dented pipes, left live wires exposed and failed to replace an old valve with a new one.
