Covid patient, 104, given standing ovation at hospital after beating virus twice

A 104-year-old woman was given a standing ovation by hospital staff after beating Covid-19 for the second time in just under a year.

Medics lined the corridors to give Carmen Hernandez a round of applause before she was discharged from San Rafael de Tunja University Hospital in Tunja, Colombia, on Monday.

She spent 21 days in the hospital's ICU after being admitted last month. Ms Hernandez was filmed propped up on a trolley bed which was covered in ventilated plastic, as around a dozen staff members in PPE clapped and waved her off.

The patient was originally diagnosed with Covid in June last year before being treated at the nursing home in San Jose where she's lived for 25 years. Have you beaten coronavirus more than once?
