Covid infection rates for every Scots council from Public Health Scotland amid 8,262 new cases

Another 8,262 Covid cases have been confirmed in Scotland within the last 24 hours as the nation's virus death toll rises again.Figures have been published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland (PHS) this afternoon as part of the national Covid-19 daily briefing.Nationally, there are 1,514 patients with the disease being treated in hospital which is down 57 from yesterday's reported figure.

There are currently 43 people being treated in ICUs.The number of newly-reported positive coronavirus cases recorded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran has increased by 271.
