Courtney Love says Brad Pitt had her fired from Fight Club after she rejected Kurt Cobain movie idea

Courtney Love is claiming Brad Pitt had her fired from 1999 cult classic film Fight Club, after she rejected his idea to portray her late husband Kurt Cobain in a biopic.The Hole singer, 58, aired her grievances against the Babylon star, 59, on a new episode of Marc Maron's WTF podcast, where she shared how she was originally going to play the role of Marla Singer, which ended going to Helena Bonham Carter.

Meanwhile a source close to the film told DailyMail.com: 'Nearly twenty-five years ago, Courtney Love auditioned for a role in Fight Club, a role she was never offered at any point.

You cannot be fired for a job you didn’t get. It's common knowledge that roles are not decided by other actors but by the director.' Recollections appeared to vary, as during the podcast Love said the role was already hers: 'I get the role, so the lawyers have called the lawyers – this is my role,' she said.  'He fired me because I wouldn’t let Brad play Kurt': The singer, 58, said Pitt, 59, had Fight Club director David Fincher fire her, despite the fact she already had the role; Pitt pictured in Fight Club still 'I went nuclear': The alleged firing happened after she spoke with director Gus Van Sant, who pitched her Brad's idea.
