A couple who couldn't find a house bought a closed pub complete with a pool table and dartboard to live in. Suzanne and Mark Wilcox were looking for a large house in the centre of Cardiff but they were having trouble finding a property that ticked all the boxes.
The location was vital for the determined pair and so, with nothing else on the market, they bought a large city centre pub instead.
The Westgate enchanted Mark and Suzanne and, despite their family being initially shocked to hear that they were going to buy a pub to use as a private house, their loved ones were soon on board with the idea.Speaking to Wales Online, Suzanne said: "We were relocating to Cardiff and we wanted to live in the centre, in a big home.
Mark said 'you need to keep an open mind', because he’d seen the 'for sale 'sign on The Westgate pub as we drove past one day.
