Throwing random items in your trolley in the search for inspiration rarely works out well - and will often leave you with a big bill when you get to the till. That's why the Rutherfords came up with a handy tip that can plan your meals for the week in just seconds - and it sticks to a budget. The Glasgow couple, who post on Instagram as @therutherfordlife, presented ChatGPT with a prompt asking it to create a shopping list for five evening meals at Aldi, setting a budget of £40.

Speaking about the hack, the influencers said: "ChatGPT can make the perfect shopping list for you. If you're anything like me and need some ideas for dinners or lunches this is the perfect tip for you."ChatGPT provided five ideas, with meals including a spaghetti bolognese, chicken stir-fry, vegetable curry, homemade pizzas and a chicken traybake with a whole host of extras.

The method is easily adaptable, and varying either the number of meals or the budget will provide recipes and ideas for both nutritious and easy meals.
