A couple in their 20s have built their own tiny home so that they can live rent-free and 'survive' during the housing crisis.

Laurie O'Donnell and Alan O'Brien wanted to save money on a property after setting up a new business and returning to college.

Realising they needed to live rent-free to afford their new lifestyle, the pair took on their own DIY project to build a little wooden cabin to live in - which they now say is their perfect living arrangement for the two of them.

The couple's tiny home sits at the back of Laurie's family home in the Cork. The young couple have since been sharing their property journey on their Instagram account to inspire others to get creative during a housing crisis.
