Rory and I had recently moved in together, and often talked about getting a puppy. We’d both had dogs before, and lead an active lifestyle, enjoying long walks in all the green spaces where we live in West Sussex – a four-legged friend would complete our happy little unit.
Christmas seemed a good time to get one as Rory had more time off work, so we could settle it into our home. We’d set our hearts on a border collie pup, because they’re so smart and intuitive.
